Jüdische National- und Universitätsbibliothek
Die Jüdische National- und Universitätsbibliothek (JNUB) in Jerusalem Giv'at Ram ist die Nationalbibliothek und größte Bibliothek Israels.
Sie wurde 1892 gegründet, um Literatur zum Judentum umfassend zu sammeln und zu archivieren. Seit 1920 ist sie auch Universitätsbibliothek der damals im Bau befindlichen Hebräischen Universität.
Sie sammelt die gesamte in Israel erscheinende Literatur sowie ausländische Publikationen mit Bezug zu Israel oder dem Judentum und erstellt die vierteljährlich erscheinende Nationalbibliographie Kiryat sefer. Seit 1953 hat sie das Pflichtexemplarrecht für israelische Veröffentlichungen. Ihre Sammlung von Judaica und Hebraica ist die grösste der Welt. Alle jüdischen Sprachen sind vertreten, hauptsächlich Hebräisch, Jiddisch und Ladino.
Sie ist auch die größte Universitätsbibliothek der Hebräischen Universität von Jerusalem mit einer Sammlung für Hebräische Studien, für Nahost-und Islamstudien, für Philosophie und für die Erforschung des frühen Christentums. Im Lesesaal der Bibliothek sind zwei Bereiche mit jeweils einer Sammlung für Nachschlagewerke für jüdische bzw. für islamische Studien eingerichtet. Dem Lesesaal ist ein Zeitschriftenraum angeschlossen, in dem die jeweils letzten Ausgaben der israelischen und internationalen Fachzeitschriften zu allen Bereichen der Wissenschaften ausliegen.
Der Bestand an Büchern und Zeitschriften beläuft sich auf etwa 5 Millionen Bände, die ab 1984 in einem Online-Katalog erschlossen werden. Zu den Spezialsammlungen zählen Manuskripte (etwa 9.000 hebräische und 2.000 arabische) und etwa 400 Nachlässe bedeutender Juden, darunter der von Albert Einstein und Ignaz Goldziher.
Der zentrale online-Katalog erfasst alle Publikationen seit 1984.

- Die Handschriftensammlung umfasst über neuntausend hebräische und zweitausend arabische Handschriften aus allen Bereichen der Wissenschaften.
- Das Albert Einstein Archiv; Nachlass und persönliche Aufzeichnungen von Albert Einstein.
- Die Gershom Scholem-Sammlung; Raritäten; Kabbala, Mystik, Religionsgeschichte. Auch online zugänglich.
- Mikrofilmsammlung hebräischer Handschriften in ausländischen Bibliotheken. Ein Viertel davon ist durch den online-Katalog zugänglich.
