Truck-Makers ist ein südafrikanischer Nutzfahrzeughersteller mit Sitz in Pretoria. Große Bedeutung erlangten die Lastkraftwagen von Truck-Makers mit der Markenbezeichnung „SAMIL“ (South African Military) bei der Südafrikanischen Armee. Es handelte sich bei den z. T. bis 1998 gebauten Typen SAMIL 20 (leichter 2-achsiger Frontlenker), SAMIL 50 (mittelschwerer 2-achsiger Langhauber) und SAMIL 100 (schwerer 3-achsiger Langhauber) um modifizierte Lizenzbauten von Magirus-Deutz aus Deutschland. Die zivilen Versionen der Fahrzeuge wurden unter der Marke „SAMAG“ (South African Magirus) verkauft. Truck-Makers fertigte auch Omnibusse. Alle Lkw-Typen hatten ein hoch belastbares Allrad-Fahrgestell und eigneten sich daher gut für den Einsatz in unwegsamem Gelände. Nach ihrer Ausmusterung bei der Armee gelangten viele SAMIL-Lkw in zivile Nutzung, z. B. in Bergwerken, in der Land- und Forstwirtschaft und als Expeditions- und Safari-Fahrzeuge. Schätzungsweise rund 5.000 dieser Lkw sind noch in Südafrika aber auch in Botsuana, Malawi, Namibia, Sambia und Tansania unterwegs.
