Der Bachelor of Arts in Theology (BoATh) ist der niedrigste akademische Abschluss des Studienganges der Theologie. Die Regelstudienzeit an europäischen Hochschulen beträgt 5 Semester. Dieser Studiengang ist mit dem Bachelor of Theology (BoTh) [1] nahezu identisch, dauert jedoch 2 Semester länger und ist um die Fächer Dogmatik und Fundamentaltheologie erweitert worden. Römisch-katholische Diözesen und der EKD sowie dem lutherischen Weltbund angehörende Kirchen setzen mindestens den Bachelor of Arts für Studien auf Pfarramt voraus.

Auf einen Bachelor of Arts kann in der Regel ein Master of Arts aufgesattelt werden, ein Bachelor of Theology reicht hierfür nicht aus. Mindestqualifikationen hierfür ist beispielsweise mindestens das kirchliche oder das staatliche Hebraicum, das universitäre Hebraicum reicht in der Regel nicht aus.

Studienmöglichkeiten

Derzeit in Vorbereitung, an der Universität Freiburg voraussichtlich ab Wintersemester 2008, Universität Tübingen ab Wintersemester 2009.
