Ian Axford

Sir William Ian Axford (* 2. Januar 1933 in Dannevirke, Neuseeland; † 13. März 2010 in Napier, Neuseeland) war ein neuseeländischer Astrophysiker. Ian Axford war von 1974 bis 1990 Direktor des Max-Planck-Institut für Aeronomie. Seit 1986 war er Mitglied der Royal Society London und im Jahre 1996 wurde er in den Adelsstand erhoben.
