Caldecott Medal

Mit der Caldecott Medal prämiert die American Library Association seit 1938 jährlich die besten Bilderbücher für Kinder. Die Auszeichnung ist nach Randolph J. Caldecott benannt. Nominierte Buchautoren, die nicht den Hauptpreis erlangen, können für ihre Leistung mit der Caldecott Honor ausgezeichnet werden.

Neben der Newbery Medal gilt die Caldecott Medal als der bedeutendste Kinderbuchpreis der Vereinigten Staaten.
