Budislav Vukas

Budislav Vukas (* 1. Januar 1938 in Rijeka) ist kroatischer Jurist und Professor. Er gehörte von 1996 bis 2005 dem Internationalen Seegerichtshof an und war von 2002 bis 2005 dessen Vizepräsident.

Leben

Nach seinem Studium an der Universität Zagreb und der Haager Akademie für Völkerrecht promovierte Vukas 1974 im Völkerrecht zum Doktor der Rechte. Ab 1977 lehrte er als Professor an der Universität Zagreb und nahm zahlreiche Gastprofessuren wahr. Zudem war er mehrfach Berater des Umweltprogramms der Vereinten Nationen und nahm an der Dritten UN-Seerechtskonferenz teil. Als Gründungsmitglied war er wesentlich am Aufbau der Association internationale du Droit de la mer beteiligt. Im Fall Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide vor dem Internationalen Gerichtshof ist er als Ad-hoc-Richter tätig.
