Per Oskar Kjølaas (* 25. Mai 1948 in Kirkenes) ist ein norwegischer, lutherischer Bischof der Norwegischen Kirche.

Leben

Kjølaas wurde 1948 in Kirkenes geboren. Nach seiner Schulzeit studierte Kjølaas Samische Sprachen und Theologie in Oslo an der MF Norwegischen Schule für Theologie. Das Studium beendete er 1974. Danach war Kjølaas als Pfarrer im nördlichen Norwegen tätig (unter anderem in Sortland, Kautokeino und Karasjok). Seit 2002 ist Kjølaas lutherischer Bischof des Bistum Nord-Hålogaland in Tromsø.

Kjølaas hat mehrere theologische Bücher verfasst. Daneben hat er Luthers Kleinen Katechismus ins Nordsamische übersetzt. Seit 2002 leitet er eine Projektgruppe, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, eine neue Übersetzung der Bibel ins Samische zu erstellen.
