Mohamed Aly El-Erian (* 1958) ist Vorstandsvorsitzender von Pacific Investment Management Company, LLC (PIMCO).

Leben

Mohamed A. El-Erian erwarb 1980 einen Bachelor Grad an der Universität Cambridge im Fachgebiet Wirtschaftswissenschaft. In den Jahren 1982 und 1985 erwarb er an der Universität von Oxford einen Master Grad beziehungsweise einen Doktorgrad.[1] Er begann sein Berufsleben 1983 beim Internationalen Währungsfonds in Washington, bei dem er 15 Jahre lang arbeitete.[1] Nach zwei Jahren bei Salomon Smith Barney in London wechselte er 1999 zu PIMCO. Von 2004 bis 2007 war er Geschäftsführer der Harvard Management Company, die das Stiftungsvermögen der Harvard Universität verwaltet.[1] Im Dezember 2007 wechselte er erneut zu PIMCO, wo er die Position des Vorstandsvorsitzenden übernahm.[1]
