Moses Samuel Zuckermandel

Moses Samuel Zuckermandel (auch Zuckermandl, * 24. April 1836 in Uherský Brod, Mähren, Österreich-Ungarn; † 27. Januar 1917 in Breslau) war ein tschechisch-deutscher Rabbiner, Talmudist und jüdischer Gelehrter.

Zuckermandel war Schüler von Samson Raphael Hirsch in Nikolsburg, studierte am Jüdisch-Theologischen Seminar in Breslau sowie an der dortigen Universität. Im Jahr 1863 promovierte er zum Doktor der Philosophie.

Er war Oberrabbiner in Trier, Pleschen (Preußen) und schließlich Breslau und wurde dort am 1. April 1898 zum Dozenten der Mora-Leipziger-Stiftung ernannt. Der Großteil seiner wissenschaftlichen Werke beschäftigt sich mit der Tosefta und lieferte die ersten kritischen Fassungen, basierend auf unterschiedlichen Manuskripten (besonders das Erfurter Manuskript).
