On the Night (engl. für: „Bei Nacht“) ist das dritte Livealbum der britischen Rockband Dire Straits. Es erschien im Mai 1993 als Resultat der letzten großen Tournee, bis die Band Mitte der 90er-Jahre getrennte Wege ging.

Hintergrund

Die Aufnahmen wurden von drei Auftritten zu einem Album zusammengemischt:

Von der Auswahl der Titel soll es Alchemy in gewisser Weise ergänzen. So sind beispielsweise Telegraph Road oder Sultans of Swing nicht vertreten, stattdessen die nach 1983 geschriebenen Titel Money for Nothing, Brothers in Arms oder Calling Elvis von den Alben Brothers in Arms und On Every Street.

Es existiert auch eine DVD mit demselben Titel, jedoch mit mehr Liedern. Ein späteres Konzert (am 29. September 1992 im Amphitheater in Nîmes) der On-Every-Street-Welttournee zeigt auch die inoffizielle DVD Autumn in Nimes.
