Seydou Keita (Fotograf)

Seydou Keita (* 1921 in Bamako, Mali, damals Französisch-Sudan; † 21. November 2001 in Paris, Frankreich) war ein Fotografiekünstler aus Mali; er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Fotografen Afrikas.

Er ist vor allem für seine Porträts von Menschen und Familien, die er zwischen 1940 und Anfang der sechziger Jahre aufnahm, bekannt. Keïta war ein Autodidakt. Seine Bilder sind als Aufzeichnungen der malischen Gesellschaft und auch als Kunstwerke anerkannt.
