Abu-Bakr Khairat

Abu-Bakr Mahmoud Khairat (* 10. April 1910 in Kairo; † 25. Oktober 1963 ebenda) war ein ägyptischer Komponist.

Khairat studierte Architektur und erhielt in Kairo und Paris eine musikalische Ausbildung. Nachdem er lange in Paris gelebt hatte, gründete er in Kairo die Musikakademie deren erster Vorsitzender er war. Er komponierte drei Sinfonien, eine Orchestersuite, zwei Ouvertüren, zwei Klavierkonzerte, kammermusikalische Werke und eine Kantate.

Abu-Bakr Khairat ist der Onkel des Komponisten Omar Khairat.
