David Diringer

David Diringer (* 16. Juni 1900 in Tlumacz, Ungarn; † 1975) war ein jüdischer Orientalist ungarischer Herkunft.

Wirken

David Diringer ist einer der größten Forscher der Sprachentwicklung und der Schriftgeschichte. Er lehrte an der Universität in Cambridge und ist Autor mehrerer bedeutender Werke zum Thema Schrift und Gründungsdirektor des Alphabet-Museums in Tel Aviv.
