Dorothea „Dolley“ Payne Todd Madison (* 20. Mai 1768 in New Garden, Guilford County, North Carolina; † 12. Juli 1849 in Washington D.C.) war die Ehefrau des US-Präsidenten James Madison und damit die First Lady der USA von 1809 bis 1817. Ihr Spitzname wird oft falsch „Dolly“ geschrieben.

Sie war eine Tochter des Bauern John Payne und seiner Frau Mary Coles. Ihre Jahre als Teenager verbrachte sie in Philadelphia und besuchte das Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Am 7. Januar 1790 heirateten Dolley und John Todd jr. (1764–1793) in Philadelphia. Das Paar hatte zwei Söhne, John Payne Todd (1792–1852) und William Temple (Kindstod 1793). Dolleys Ehemann und ihr jüngerer Sohn starben beide durch eine Gelbfieber-Epidemie.

Dolley Todd ehelichte James Madison am 14. September 1794. Die Hochzeit fand auf einer Plantage in Virginia statt. Sie hatten keine Kinder. Nach dem Tod ihres Mannes im Jahr 1836 lebte Dolley Madison vom November 1837 mit einer Unterbrechung zwischen 1839 und 1843 bis zu ihrem Tod im Juli 1849 in einem Haus am Madison Square in Washington.
