Ein Flipchart (auch Flip-Chart, englisch für Umblätter-Diagramm) ist ein Hilfsmittel für Präsentationen (z. B. Vorträge, Referate), Besprechungen und Moderation. Das Flipchart ist sehr verbreitet.

Der Flipchartständer

Das Flipchart besteht aus einer großen Platte (meist magnethaftend), oben einer Klemmvorrichtung für das Flipchartpapier, unten einer Ablage für Stifte und mit einem ausziehbaren Ständer (manchmal auf Rollen). Der Ständer hat 3 Beine die man meistens in der Länge ändern kann.

Flipchartpapier misst knapp 100 × 70 cm, ist meistens unliniert, gelegentlich in weitem Raster kariert, durchschreibefest für Filzschreiber (70 bis 80 g/m²) und wird meist in 20er-Blöcken geliefert. Oben ist es gelocht und wird so auf die Zapfen am Flipchartständer gesteckt und mit der Klemmvorrichtung befestigt. Eine Perforation dient zum Abreißen der Blätter. Alternativ wird das Blatt vor dem Abreißen mit einer Stecknadel angeritzt.

Didaktik

Der Flipchartständer wird gut sichtbar an einer Innen-Seite des Raumes (nicht am Fenster) aufgestellt.

Der Vortragende schreibt mit dicken Filzstiften (farbigen Markern) auf den Flipchart-Papierblock. Zeichnungen und Diagramme machen Inhalte visuell erfahrbar. Mit Fettkreiden werden Flächen hervorgehoben. Beschriebene Blätter werden abgetrennt und mit Tesakrepp oder an einer Magnetleiste an der Wand aufgehängt. Dadurch ergibt sich ein fortlaufendes Protokoll.

Am Flipchart kann ein Thema interaktiv mit den Teilnehmern entwickelt und dokumentiert werden. Das aktiviert die Teilnehmer und steigert den Arbeits- oder Lernerfolg.

Geschichte

Das Flipchart wurde von John Henry Patterson erfunden, dem US-amerikanischen Vertriebspionier und Unternehmensgründer der NCR Corporation.
