High Point ist eine Stadt im US-Bundesstaat North Carolina. Die Stadt ist bekannt für ihre Möbel-, Textil- und ihre Busindustrie.

Geschichte

Die Stadt High Point war der höchste Punkt der North Carolina Railroad die 1856 zwischen Charlotte und Goldsboro verkehrte. Das gab ihr den Namen. High Point wurde 1859 gegründet. Damals war die wichtigste Industrie der Tabak, die Holzbearbeitung und Textilien. 1889 wurde die erste Möbelfabrik eröffnet.
