Geschichte

Gegründet 1982 von Jon M. Huntsman, entwickelte sich das Unternehmen durch Fusionen und Zukäufe zu einem der größeren Chemieunternehmen der Welt. 2005 erfolgt der Börsengang an der New York Stock Exchange.

Huntsman produziert in seinen operativen Gesellschaften Ausgangsprodukte für die Chemie-, Kunststoff-, Automobil-, Luftfahrt-, Textil-, Schuh-, Farben- und Beschichtungs-, Pharma- sowie die Bauindustrie, die Landwirtschaft, für die Herstellung von Waschmitteln, Körperpflegeprodukten, Möbeln, Haushaltsgeräten und Verpackungen. Das Unternehmen beschäftigte 2008 über 12.000 Mitarbeiter in mehreren weltweiten Niederlassungen. 2008 wurde ein Umsatz von über 10 Milliarden US-Dollar erwirtschaftet.[1]
