Die Motronic (abgeleitet von Motorelektronic), (eingetragene Marke[1] der Robert Bosch GmbH) ist eine frei programmierbare, digitale Motorsteuerung für Ottomotoren.

Das 1979 eingeführte System fasste erstmals Benzineinspritzung und Zündsystem zu einer elektronischen Motorsteuerung zusammen, wohingegen das Vorgängersystem L-Jetronic ein reines Benzineinspritzsystem mit separater Zündanlage darstellte. Mit der Motronik wurde erstmals eine Motorsteuerung mit einem Mikrocontroller in einem Serienfahrzeug integriert. Das erste Fahrzeug, bei dem die Motronic eingesetzt wurde, war der BMW 732i [2].

Seit 1995 ersetzen zunehmend Systeme mit elektronischem Gaspedal E-Gas (ME-Motronic) die bis dahin üblichen Seilzugsysteme, wodurch die Leistungsregelung des Motors vollständig elektronisch erfolgt. MED-Motronic (ab 2000) benennt eine zusätzliche Direkteinspritzung.

  • MEV-Motronic: Integrierte Valvetronic-Steuerung
