Peak

Der Begriff Peak kommt aus dem Englischen und bedeutet ‚Gipfel, Spitze, Scheitelwert‘. In der Messtechnik und Stochastik bezeichnet man einen signifikanten Spitzenwert als Peak. Zeichnet man Daten in einem Diagramm gegen die Zeit, gegen den Ort oder gegen eine andere Größe (z. B. Wellenlänge) auf, stellen sich die plötzlichen Ausschläge des Messsignals als deutliche Gipfel/Spitzen gegenüber dem Mittelwertbereichen dar und zeigen einen abnormalen Befund.

Maß für die Intensität des Peaks sind im allgemeinen die Faktoren, die man auch bei Normalverteilung zugrunde legt, im Speziellen etwa Wert, die der Zeitbewertung des Peaks dienen:

k_{s}=\frac{x_{\mathrm{max}}}{x_{\mathrm{med}}} bzw. k_{s}=\frac{x_{\mathrm{med}}}{x_{\mathrm{min}}} für negative Peaks bei nur-positiven Skalen, sonst k_{s}=\frac{| x_{\mathrm{max/min}} - x_{\mathrm{med}} |}{x_{\mathrm{med}}}
  • der Tailingfaktor (‚Taillierung‘ der Spitze, Breite des Ausschlags), etwa bei 5 % oder 10 % der Peakhöhe, der auch ein Maß für die Symmetrie des Ausschlags ist
