Bill ist eine schultergestützte Panzerabwehrlenkwaffe der Firma Bofors. Das System wird auch RBS-56 bezeichnet.

Entwicklung

Das Waffensystem BILL wurde von Bofors für das Schwedische Heer und für den Export entwickelt. Die Entwicklung begann 1979. Der Produktionsauftrag durch das schwedische Heer erfolgte 1985. Die ersten Systeme wurden 1988 ausgeliefert. Die verbesserte Version BILL-2 wurde 1999 eingeführt.

Technik

Das System besteht aus einem glasfaserverstärkten Plastikrohr mit der Lenkwaffe und einem Steuer- und Visiereinheit, welche am Rohr befestigt wird. Ein Wärmebildgerät kann oben auf die Lenkeinheit aufgesetzt werden, wobei das Bild in das Okular eingeblendet wird

Die Waffe wird auf das Ziel gerichtet und die Rakete abgefeuert. Beim Start befördert eine kleine Ausstoßladung die Lenkwaffe aus dem Startrohr. Unmittelbar nach dem Verlassen des Rohres entfalten sich die Flügel und der Raketenmotor zündet. Die Lenkwaffe fliegt 1 m über der Ziellinie und detoniert nach Auslösung durch Kontakt oder einem Laser-Annäherungszünder über dem Ziel. Der HEAT Gefechtskopf ist im Winkel von 30° nach unten geneigt in Flugkörperrumpf eingebaut, womit das Ziel von oben bekämpft werden kann. Bei diesem Angriffsprofil muss der Hohlladungsgefechtskopf nur die dünne Dachpanzerung des Kampfpanzers durchschlagen. Auch lassen sich so Ziele bekämpfen, welche sich in Deckung befinden.

Die verbesserte Version BILL-2 ist mit zwei HEAT Gefechtsköpfen zur Bekämpfung von Kampfpanzern mit Reaktivpanzerung ausgerüstet. BILL-2 hat eine maximale Einsatzdistanz von 2.200 m.
