Tamura liegt nördlich von Iwaki und östlich von Kōriyama.
Geschichte
Tamura wurde am 1. März 2005 aus der Vereinigung der Gemeinden Funehiki (船引町, -machi), Ōgoe (大越町, -machi), Takine (滝根町, -machi) und Tokiwa (常葉町, -machi), sowie dem Dorf Miyakoji (都路村, -mura) des Landkreises Tamura gegründet.
