Handlung

Eustacia Vye zieht zu ihrem in dem Provinzort Egdon Heath lebenden Großvater. Bald ist es ihr dort langweilig. Sie heiratet den aus Paris gekommenen Juwelier Clym Yeobright und hofft, sie würde nach Paris ziehen. Yeobright will jedoch in Egdon Heath bleiben.

Eustacia geht eine Affäre mit Damon Wildeve ein.

Der Film wurde im Jahr 1995 als Beste Mini-Serie oder TV-Film für den Golden Globe Award nominiert. Er wurde 1995 für den Tonschnitt für den Emmy Award nominiert.
