Die United Kingdom Independence Party (Abk. UKIP oder UK Independence Party) ist eine libertäre und europaskeptische britische Partei, deren Hauptziel der Austritt Großbritanniens aus der Europäischen Union ist. Der gegenwärtige Parteivorsitzende ist Nigel Farage (MdEP).

Bei den Europawahlen im Juni 2004 erzielte die UKIP 16,8 % der Wählerstimmen und 12 Sitze im Europäischen Parlament. Nach dem Ausschluss von Ashley Mote (MdEP, fraktionslos) aus der Partei haben sich die 11 verbliebenen UKIP-Mitglieder der europakritischen Fraktion Unabhängigkeit und Demokratie (Ind/DEM) angeschlossen. Sie verfügt weiterhin über zwei Sitze im House of Lords.

Zwischenzeitlich hat auch das Zugpferd der Europawahlkampagne, der bekannte Fernsehtalkmaster Robert Kilroy-Silk, der in den 1980er Jahren für die Labour Party im Unterhaus saß, die UKIP-Gruppe im Europaparlament verlassen. Bei den Unterhauswahlen am 5. Mai 2005 trat er mit seiner Parteineugründung "Veritas" (Wahrheit) an. Bei diesen Unterhauswahlen erreichte die UK Independence Party nur rund 2,3 % der Stimmen und konnte in keinem der 646 Wahlkreise einen Sieg für sich verbuchen.
