Mario Pieri

Mario Pieri (* 22. Juni 1860 in Lucca, Provinz Lucca, Italien; † 1. März 1913 in Andrea di Compito, Italien) war ein italienischer Mathematiker.

Leben

Nach dem Schulbesuch studierte er zunächst von 1880 bis 1881 an der Universität Bologna, ehe er 1884 die Elitehochschule Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa beendete. Nachdem er 1891 einen Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) an der Universität Turin erwarb, war er zuletzt von 1900 bis zu seinem Tod als Professor an der Universität Catania tätig.

Während seiner Lehrtätigkeit befasste sich Pieri insbesondere mit den Themenfeldern Arithmetik und Geometrie.
