Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell (* 30. Juni 1930) ist ein US-amerikanischer Ökonom und Fellow an der Hoover Institution.

Leben

Sowell studierte Wirtschaftswissenschaften am Harvard College (A.B., 1958) und der Columbia University (A.M., 1959). Er promovierte 1968 an der University of Chicago.

Neben einigen außerakademischen Tätigkeiten wie im Arbeitsministerium der Vereinigten Staaten (1961–1962) oder bei AT&T (1964–1965) war Sowell bis 1980 Professor an der Cornell University, der Brandeis University und an der UCLA. Seit 1980 ist er Fellow der Hoover Institution.
