Cory Doctorow auf der 63. World Science Fiction Convention in Glasgow, August 2005.Cory Doctorow [ˈkɒri ˈdɒktəroʊ] (* 19. Juli 1971 in Toronto, Ontario) ist ein kanadischer Science-Fiction-Autor, Journalist und Blogger. Er gewann 2000 den John W. Campbell Award als bester neuer Autor.

Leben
Bis Mitte 2006 lebte er in London, arbeitete als European Affairs Coordinator für die Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) und wurde 2007 mit dem EFF Pioneer Award ausgezeichnet. 2005 ist er einer der Mitgründer der Open Rights Group in England die sich, ähnlich wie die EFF, unter anderem für eine Liberalisierung des Urheberrechts, gegen Digitale Rechteverwaltung und für den Datenschutz engagiert. Seine Bücher veröffentlicht er unter einer Creative Commons-Lizenz. Er ist Co-Autor bei Boing Boing seit 2001.
Seit Sommer 2006 lebt Doctorow in Los Angeles und arbeitet dort als Gastprofessor am Fulbright Chair in Public Diplomacy der University of Southern California.
