Das Hammersmith Apollo ist der Name einer Konzert- und Veranstaltungshalle im Londoner Stadtteil Hammersmith.

Ursprünglich hieß das 1932 erbaute Gebäude „Gaumont Palace“ und wurde als Kino genutzt. Eröffnet wurde es 1934. 1946 wurde der Zusatz Palace gestrichen, und es hieß nun schlicht „Gaumont“. Im Jahre 1963 wurde es in Hammersmith Odeon umbenannt. Unter diesem Namen wurde es weltweit bekannt. Beispielsweise brachte 1981 die Gruppe Motörhead ihre LP „No Sleep ’til Hammersmith“ heraus. Der Titel war eine Anspielung auf den Ruf des Hammersmith Odeon als legendäre Konzerthalle, die Platte selbst wurde allerdings nicht dort aufgenommen.

Die Liste der Künstler, die hier auftraten, liest sich wie ein Who's Who der Rockgeschichte: Genesis, The Who, Queen, AC/DC, Dire Straits, Iron Maiden, Frehley's Comet, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Metallica, The Cult, The Cure, Bruce Springsteen, Crowded House und Whitesnake, um nur einige zu nennen. Besondere Berühmtheit erlangte das Odeon aber vor allem dadurch, dass hier David Bowie am 3. Juli 1973 das letzte Mal als Ziggy Stardust auftrat. Auch der Auftritt von Neil Young im Hammersmith Odeon im selben Jahr wurde sehr bekannt, weil er damals Teile der Bühne in Brand setzte.

1993 wurde die Halle in „Hammersmith Apollo“ umbenannt. Durch einen Sponsorenvertrag mit der kanadischen Brauerei Labatt bekam die Halle den Zusatz „Labatt's Apollo Hammersmith“. Im Jahre 2002 übernahm die britische Brauerei „Carling“ den Vertrag und der Name wurde dementsprechend in „Carling Apollo Hammersmith“ geändert. Seit 2006 heißt der Ort wieder schlicht „Hammersmith Apollo“.
