Allgemeine Struktur der Imide.

Imide sind eine Stoffgruppe organischer Verbindungen, die die funktionelle Gruppe R–C(O)–NR–C(O)–R besitzen.

Struktur

Die Imidogruppe hat die Form: R–C(O)–NR–C(O)–R, wobei C(O) eine Carbonylfunktion darstellen soll.

Chemie

Strukturformel des Phthalimids

Die Imidogruppe wird aus zwei Carbonsäuren (oder einer Dicarbonsäure) und aus Ammoniak oder einem primären Amin gebildet. Ein häufig verwendetes Imid ist Phthalimid, das aus Phthalsäure und Ammoniak aufgebaut wird.

Im Vergleich zur Amidogruppe (R–CO–NH–R') besitzt die Imidogruppe die größere Delokalisierungsmöglichkeit der negativen Ladung der korrespondierenden Base (−M-Effekt der beiden Carbonylgruppen). Somit ist die deprotonierte Ladung besser stabilisiert und folglich die Säurestärke größer.
