Lindsay Crouse (* 12. Mai 1948 in New York City als Lindsay Ann Crouse) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Leben und Leistungen

Der Vater der Schauspielerin, Russel Crouse, war Drehbuchautor. Lindsay Crouse schloss im Jahr 1970 ein Studium am Radcliffe College ab.[1] Sie debütierte an der Seite von William Shatner im Fernsehdrama Die zehnte Stufe aus dem Jahr 1975. Im Filmdrama Die Unbestechlichen (1976) von Alan J. Pakula spielte sie an der Seite von Dustin Hoffman und Robert Redford eine kleine Nebenrolle. In der Komödie Between the Lines (1977) spielte sie eine der größeren Rollen neben John Heard und Jeff Goldblum. Ebenfalls 1977 spielte sie in einer Nebenrolle im Film Schlappschuss mit Paul Newman die Frau eines Eishockeyspielers.

Im Filmdrama Ein Platz im Herzen (1984) übernahm Crouse neben Sally Field und Ed Harris eine der größeren Rollen. Für diese Rolle wurde sie im Jahr 1985 als Beste Nebendarstellerin für den Oscar nominiert. Im SF-Filmdrama Die Besucher (1989) spielte sie die Rolle der Ehefrau eines Schriftstellers (Christopher Walken), der überzeugt ist, die Außerirdischen hätten mit ihm medizinische Experimente durchgeführt. Im Thriller 24 Stunden in seiner Gewalt (1990) spielte sie eine FBI-Agentin, die den Entführer Michael Bosworth (Mickey Rourke) verfolgt, der die Familie Cornell (Anthony Hopkins und Mimi Rogers) in seine Gewalt bringt. Im Fernsehdrama Haus der stummen Schreie (1996) war sie neben Cher, Anne Heche, Jada Pinkett Smith und Rita Wilson zu sehen.

Crouse war in den Jahren 1977 bis 1990 mit David Mamet verheiratet, von dem sie zwei Töchter hat. Im Jahr 1998 heiratete sie den Cutter und Regisseur Rick Blue.
