Romolo Carboni (* 9. Mai 1911 in Fano, Provinz Pesaro und Urbino, Italien; † 2. September 1999, ebenda) war vatikanischer Diplomat.

Leben

Romolo Carboni empfing 1934 die Priesterweihe im Bistum Fano. Papst Pius XII. verlieh ihm am 6. Dezember 1949 den Ehrentitel Hausprälat Seiner Heiligkeit.[1]

1953 ernannte ihn Papst Pius XII. zum Titularerzbischof von Sidon und bestellte ihn zum Apostolischen Delegat in Australien. Die Bischofsweihe am 25. Oktober 1953 spendete ihm der Präfekt der Kongregation für die Evangelisierung der Völker, Pietro Kardinal Fumasoni Biondi; Mitkonsekratoren waren Antonio Samorè, Kurienbischof und späterer Kardinal, und Vincenzo Del Signore, Bischof von Fano. Von 1959 bis 1969 war Romolo Carboni Apostolischer Nuntius in Peru, von 1969 bis 1986 in Italien.

1986 wurde seinem Rücktrittsgesuch durch Papst Johannes Paul II. stattgegeben.
