Brooke Lisa Burke (* 8. September 1971 in Hartford, Connecticut) ist eine US-amerikanische Tänzerin, Fernsehmoderatorin und Fotomodell.

Leben und Karriere

Burke ist irischer, französischer und portugiesischer Abstammung.[1] Zwar ist sie in Connecticut geboren, wuchs jedoch in Arizona auf. An der Universität von Kalifornien studierte sie Journalismus.

Bekannt wurde sie durch Aktfotografien auf der Webseite BlueNudes[2] sowie Playboyausgaben aus den Jahren 2001 und 2004. Man fand Burke außerdem auch in Magazinen wie Maxim oder FHM. [3][4]

2001 konkurrierte sie in der britischen Castingshow The Weakest Link, schied jedoch in der zweiten Runde aus.[5] In den Jahren 2004 und 2005 moderierte sie bei dem US-amerikanischen Medienunternehmen CBS Broadcasting die Reality-Show Rock Star. Die Sendung lehnt sich an American Idol an, jedoch geht es bei Rock Star darum, einen Sänger für eine Rockband zu finden.[6] Des Weiteren war Brooke in mehreren Staffeln der Fernsehsendung Dancing with the Stars Co-Moderatorin.[7] Dancing with the Stars ist der amerikanische Version der britischen Sendung Strictly Come Dancing.

Große Bekanntheit bekam sie durch ihre Rolle der Rachel Teller in Need for Speed: Underground 2. Daraufhin spielte sie die Hauptrolle in Big Bumpin' sowie in dem Werbespiel PocketBike Racer von Burger King.[8][9]

2009 moderierte sie außerdem die 66. Golden Globe Awards zusammen mit Tiki Barber. [10] Gemeinsam mit Chris Harrison moderierte sie 2011 den Schönheitswettbewerb Miss America.[11]

Im Februar 2011 hat Burke ihr erstes Buch mit dem Titel The Naked Mom: A Modern Mom's Fearless Revelations,Savvy Advice, and Soulful Reflections veröffentlicht.[12]

Am 12. August 2011 heiratete Burke ihren langjährigen Verlobten David Charvet. Das Paar hat zwei gemeinsame Kinder - Sohn Shaya und Tochter Rain - sowie zwei Töchter aus Burkes erster Ehe mit Garth Fisher.[13]
