center.tv sind vier zusammen gehörende lokale Fernsehsender in den Regionen Köln/Bonn, Düsseldorf/Neuss/Kreis Mettmann, Ruhrgebiet und Bremen/Bremerhaven. Sendestart für das Kölner Programm war der 10. Oktober 2005. Im Mai 2006 folgte das Lokalprogramm Düsseldorf, im September 2007 das Lokalprogramm für Bremen/Bremerhaven und schließlich im Mai 2008 das Programm für das Ruhrgebiet. Am 5. Mai 2009 kommt das Programm für die Region Aachen hinzu. Ein Programm für Singapur ist angekündigt.

Gesendet wird ein 24-Stunden-„Vollprogramm“, bestehend aus Information, Service, Unterhaltung, Kultur und Sport. Der Sender ist im Raum Köln und Düsseldorf sowie im Raum Bremen/Bremerhaven über analoges und digitales Kabel empfangbar. Außerdem wird das Programm von Köln, Düsseldorf, dem Ruhrgebiet und Bremen/Bremerhaven im Internet als Livestream übertragen. Am bekanntesten dürfte der Sender im Raum Köln vor allem durch die Führerstandsfahrten der KVB sein, sowie die Präsenz in den Kölner Clubs für die Sendung Rheinfeiern.

Mit einer Bewerbung um die Sendelizenz für die Städte Aachen, Dortmund, und Mönchengladbach möchte center.tv in vier weiteren Städten mit starkem eigenen Profil das lokales Fernsehen starten. Das wirtschaftliche Konzept von Andre Zalbertus sieht den Einsatz von Videojournalisten und neuerdings von Hobbyjournalisten vor.[1]

Gesellschaften

Die center.tv Heimatfernsehen GmbHs sind Tochtergesellschaften der centerstone AG, die dem Fernsehproduzenten Andre Zalbertus gehört. Beteiligt sind an den einzelnen Gesellschaften verschiedene Partner, z.B. die Zeitungsverlage DuMont Schauberg und H. Neusser (Bonn) in Köln[2], die Rheinische Post in Düsseldorf.[3]
