Die East African Railways (EAR) waren eine Bahngesellschaft der drei ostafrikanischen Staaten Kenia, Uganda und Tansania. Die Gesellschaft entstand 1948 durch den Zusammenschluss der Kenia Uganda Railways (KUR) und der Tanganjika Railways (TR).

Die wichtigste Strecke verlief von Mombasa am Indischen Ozean über Nairobi nach Kampala. Das Streckennetz der EAR war in Meterspur gebaut; die Dampflokomotiven der Klasse 59 waren die größten Meterspurlokomotiven überhaupt.

1977 löste sich die EAR auf, weil es zunehmende Differenzen zwischen den drei beteiligten Staaten gab.
