Nadolol ist ein unselektiver Betablocker mit einer Halbwertszeit von etwa 20 Stunden. Er wird verwendet zur Therapie von Bluthochdruck, Angina pectoris und Migräne.

Stereoisomerie

Die Substanz besteht aus zwei Enantiomerenpaaren, die als Racemate vorliegen.[3] Nadolol ist also ein Gemisch aus vier Stereoisomeren. In allen vier Stereoisomeren stehen die beiden Hydroxygruppen am Sechsring cis zueinander.
