Petero Mataca (* 28. April 1933 in Cawaci) ist Erzbischof von Suva.

Leben

Der Patriarch von Kilikien, Grégoire-Pierre XV. Kardinal Agagianian, weihte ihn am 19. Dezember 1959 zum Priester und Mataca wurde in den Klerus des Apostolischen Vikariats Fidschi-Inseln inkardiniert. Paul VI. ernannte ihn am 27. August 1974 zum Weihbischof in Suva und Titularbischof von Siminina.

Die Bischofsweihe spendete ihm der Erzbischof von Kasama, George Hamilton Pearce SM, am 3. Dezember desselben Jahres; Mitkonsekratoren waren die Pierre-Paul-Émile Martin, Alterzbischof von Nouméa, und Victor Frederick Foley, emeritierter Erzbischof von Suva.

Der Papst ernannte ihn am 10. April 1976 zum Erzbischof von Suva.
