Die 3U Holding AG mit Sitz in Marburg ist eine deutsche Dachgesellschaft, die aus der „3U Telecom AG“ hervorgegangen ist. Unter dem Dach des Unternehmens vereinen sich diverse Telefongesellschaften, wie die OneTel, die LineCall, die fon 4U, die 3U Telecom GmbH und andere.

Das Netz und die Verbindungsnetzbetreiberkennzahl der ehemaligen 3U Telecom AG ist auf die im Jahr 2006 gegründete 3U Telecom GmbH übergegangen.

Geschichte

Die 1997 in Eschborn bei Frankfurt gegründete Gesellschaft agierte in den ersten Jahren nur als Carrier-Lieferant und trat erst seit 1999 als Provider für Call-by-Call Gespräche auf. 2006 stellte die 3U TELECOM jedoch den Vertrieb einiger Produkte ein.

So bot die 3U Telecom auch Breitbandanschlüsse auf der Basis von T-DSL-Resale an. Weitere Produkte, für die der Vertrieb eingestellt wurde sind die dauerhafte Voreinstellung des Netzbetreibers (Preselection) und White Label.

2003 erzielte der 3U Konzern einen Umsatz von 64,68 Millionen Euro und einen EBITDA von 5,76 Millionen Euro. Im Jahr 2007 lag das Gesamtergebnis bei 1,87 Millionen Euro (0,04 Euro pro Aktie), 2008 bei –3,28 Millionen Euro (−0,07 Euro pro Aktie), der Umsatz ging von 108,45 Millionen (2007) auf 107,46 Millionen Euro im Jahr 2008 zurück.[2]

Mindestens seit 2007 praktiziert die 3U Telecom unregelmäßige Wechsel zwischen sehr billigen und sehr teuren Tarifen.[3] Beispielsweise wurden zum 5. November 2010 die Tarife für Call-by-Call-Auslandsgespräche in Nachbarländer wie Österreich oder Frankreich von zuvor ganztägig 0,58 Ct/min[4] auf 49,9 Ct/min,[5] also auf das 86-fache, erhöht.
