Das südkoreanische Heer (engl.: Republic of Korea Army, ROK Army) ist das Heer der südkoreanischen Streitkräfte. Es ist die größte Teilstreitkraft mit über 560.000 Soldaten (Stand: 2004). Das Heer ist zugleich auch die wichtigste Teilstreitkraft wegen der gebirgigen Topographie der koreanischen Halbinsel mit einem Gebirgsjägeranteil von 70% und aufgrund der Bedrohung durch die nordkoreanischen Streitkräfte mit deren starker Präsenz entlang der demilitarisierten Zone (2/3 sind permanent an der DMZ stationiert).

Die ROK Army ist in drei Armeen organisiert: die erste Armee (First Army, FROKA), die zweite Armee (Second Army, SROKA) und die dritte Armee (Third Army, TROKA). Allerdings werden nach einer Militärreform ab dem Jahr 2010 die erste Armee und die dritte Armee das neue Ground Operations Command (GOC) bilden und die zweite Armee wird das Rear Operations Command (ROC) bilden.

Das Heer setzt sich zusammen aus dem Armee-Hauptquartier, dem Aviation Command und dem Special Warfare Command, bestehend aus 560.000 Soldaten, die in 11 Korps, 49 Divisionen und 19 Brigaden organisiert sind. Es verfügt über 5.350 Panzer und gepanzerte Fahrzeuge, rund 11.337 Artilleriegeschützen, 7.032 Flugabwehrraketensysteme und 13.000 Systeme für die Infanterieunterstützung.
