ONS-Code 00AB Website www.barking-dagenham.gov.uk Der London Borough of Barking and Dagenham [ˈbɑːkɪŋ ən ˈdægnəm] ist ein Stadtbezirk von London. Er liegt im Nordosten der Stadt. Bei der Gründung der Verwaltungsregion Greater London im Jahr 1965 entstand er aus dem Municipal Borough of Barking und dem Municipal Borough of Dagenham in der Grafschaft Essex. Der Stadtbezirk hieß zunächst London Borough of Barking und erhielt 1980 seinen heutigen Namen.
Im Jahr 2008 zählte der 36,09 km² große Bezirk 168.900 Einwohner, die Bevölkerungsdichte betrug 4.680 Einwohner je km². Die Bevölkerung setzte sich zusammen aus 75,1 % Weißen, 8,3 % Asiaten, 11,9 % Schwarzen und 1,1 % Chinesen.[1]
Barking and Dagenham pflegt Städtepartnerschaften mit der deutschen Stadt Witten und mit der polnischen Stadt Tczew. In Dagenham befindet sich seit 1931 ein Ford-Werk.
