Handlung

Die Psychologin Dr. Jennifer Stillman zieht von New York in die Kleinstadt Sierra Vista. Bereits bei der Ankunft bekommt sie Probleme mit der örtlichen Polizei. Sie arbeitet dort in einer Schule. Der Schulleiter Ed Turner kritisiert bald ihre Behandlungsmethoden.

Die Psychologin freundet sich mit der Krankenschwester Della Divelbuss an. Die anderen Stadtbewohner sind ihr gegenüber feindselig eingestellt.

Stillman behandelt den Jungen Ben Miller, dessen Mutter getötet wurde. Ben glaubt, Sohn eines Aliens zu sein.

Kritiken

David Cornelius schrieb im „Hollywood Bitchslap“, dass dem Thriller die Spannung fehle. [1]

Richard Scheib schrieb im „The SF, Horror and Fantasy Film Review“, dass es dem Regisseur nicht gelinge, Atmosphäre aufzubauen. Er lobte nur einen der Spezialeffekte. Der Film sei ein Remake des Horrorfilms Die letzten Sieben aus dem Jahr 1955. [2]

Auszeichnungen

Bobby Edner wurde 2002 für den Young Artist Award nominiert. Der Film erhielt außerdem 2002 eine Nominierung für den Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award.
