Adriaan Geuze (* 1960 in Rotterdam) ist ein niederländischer Architekt und Landschaftsarchitektur-Professor an der Harvard University. 1987 gründete er zusammen mit Paul van Beek das Architekturbüro West 8 Urban Design & Landscape Architecture.

Werk

West 8 entwarf unter anderem ein radikales Konzept für die Bepflanzung um den Schiphol und eine auffällige “Muschellandschaft” am Fuß des Oosterschelde-Sturmflutwehrs. Auch war das Büro verantwortlich für die Wiederherstellung der Rotterdamer Schouwburgplein in den 80er Jahren. Im Dezember 2007 gewann es den prestigeträchtigen Architekturwettbewerb für einen neuen Park auf Governors Island in New York.

Zusammen mit dem Büro West 8 arbeitet Geuze ebenfalls an Lösungen gegen die Bedrohung der Niederlande durch den steigenden Meeresspiegel. Eine der Lösungsmöglichkeiten ist die Anlage einer Reihe großer Inseln in Küstennähe von Dunkerque bis Texel, 25 Kilometer vor der heutigen Küstenlinie, um die Niederlande gegen Wellenschlag zu schützen.
