Die Universität Warwick (englisch: University of Warwick) ist eine staatliche Universität in England.

Ihre Gründung wurde im Jahre 1961 beschlossen, im Jahre 1965 bekam sie die Royal Charter. Sie liegt am Stadtrand von Coventry (England), einer Industriestadt in den West Midlands, die im Zweiten Weltkrieg durch deutsche Bombardierungen großenteils zerstört wurde (siehe Coventrieren).

Die Universität Warwick gehört gemäß allen nationalen Rankings zu den zehn besten Universitäten Großbritanniens. In der Bewertung der Sunday Times für die Jahre 1998 bis 2007 liegt Warwick auf Platz 7 im Zehnjahresdurchschnitt.[1]

Die Universität ist Mitglied der Russell-Gruppe und zählt zu den größten in Großbritannien. Sie ist eine moderne Campus-Universität. Premier-Minister Tony Blair bezeichnete sie als die „Universität der Zukunft“ und US-Präsident Bill Clinton wählte Warwick für seine letzte öffentliche Rede.[2]

Im Jahr 2008 wurde von der Universität der "Warwick Prize of Writing" gestiftet, ein mit 50'000£ dotierter internationaler Preis, der alle zwei Jahre für ein ausgezeichnetes englischsprachiges Werk verliehen wird. Der erste Preis für 2009 ging an Naomi Kleins "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism".[3]
