Doktor des kanonischen Rechts (Dr. iur. can.; Juris Canonici Doctor, J.C.D.; Iuris Canonici Doctor, I.C.D., D.C.L., D.Cnl., D.D.C., D.Can.L., Doctor of Canon Law) ist der akademische Grad eines Doktors im Gebiet des kanonischen Rechts.

Tschechien und Slowakei

Der akademische Grad eines Doktors des kanonischen Rechts (tschechisch doktor kanonického práva und slowakisch doktor kánonického práva), abgekürzt als ICDr., wurde in der Vergangenheit von den theologischen Fakultäten der meisten Universitäten in Tschechien und der Slowakei in einem 1 bis 2-semestrigen Promotionsverfahren nach einem Rigorosum vergeben. Zulassungsvoraussetzung zu dem Promotionsverfahren zur Erlangung eines ICDr. war ein abgeschlossenes Magisterstudium.

Der ICDr. wird als sogenannter „kleiner Doktorgrad“ eingestuft und ist nicht mit einem Doktorgrad in Deutschland äquivalent. "Aufgrund des Fehlens einer als eigenständige wissenschaftliche Forschungsarbeit ausgewiesenen Dissertation ist Gleichwertigkeit mit einem deutschen Doktorgrad nicht gegeben." [1]

Dieser Grad kann in Deutschland und Österreich in der verliehenen Form „ICDr.“ ohne Herkunftszusatz geführt werden. Das Führen des Grades als „Dr.“ ist in Deutschland nicht möglich (bis auf wenige Ausnahmen für „Altfälle“ mit Bestandsschutz in Bayern und Berlin).[2] [3]
