Die Mercury sind das Schwesterteam der Phoenix Suns in der NBA. Der Teamname stammt vom Planeten Merkur (engl. Mercury), da der Merkur der nächstgelegene Planet zur Sonne (engl. Sun) ist.
2007 und 2009 gewannen die Mercury, angeführt von Cappie Pondexter und Diana Taurasi die WNBA-Meisterschaft.
