Occidental Petroleum Corporation (kurz Oxy) ist ein international tätiges US-amerikanisches Unternehmen, das im Gebiet der Exploration und Förderung von Erdöl und Erdgas tätig ist. Es wurde 1920 gegründet. Bekanntheit erlangte Occidental Petroleum 1988 durch die Katastrophe der Bohrinsel Piper Alpha. Derzeit (2006) firmiert Occidental Petroleum als Occidental Oil & Gas Corp. Occidental Petroleum fördert in: USA, Australien, Kanada, Kolumbien, Ecuador, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Katar, Russland und Jemen. Der Staat Ecuador allerdings kündigte im Mai 2006 einseitig die Konzessionsverträge mit Oxy. Dem Konzern werden zahlreiche Menschenrechtsverletzungen im Gebiet der Shuar-Indianer vorgeworfen, weshalb viele Ecuadorianer den Staat aufforderten, den Vertrag mit diesem Unternehmen zu kündigen.

Derzeitiger Vorsitzender und CEO des Unternehmens ist Ray Irani.
