American Jazz Hall of Fame

Die American Jazz Hall of Fame (AJHOF) ist ein US-amerikanischer Jazzpreis, der 1982 etabliert wurde und jährlich verliehen wird, um Personen auszuzeichnen, die eine besondere Bedeutung in der Geschichte des Jazz haben. Verliehen wird der Preis von der New Jersey Jazz Society und dem Jazz Institut der Rutgers University (dem bedeutendsten US-amerikanischen Forschungsinstitut für Jazzgeschichte).[1] Meist wird die entsprechende Plakette noch lebenden Jazzmusikern bei Auftritten in der Region New York überreicht.
